Even if a self-adhesive tape can be applied on almost all materials, it is a good habit to evaluate application parameters and conditions before the choice.
It is important to consider that some materials have anti-adhesive properties or they have low compatibility with the chemical nature of some adhesive (e.g. materials containing silicone, polyethylene with skid agents and so on). In these cases, adhesion could result difficult; there are materials - such as plastic materials or painted surfaces - which normally do not cause adhesion problems. In some cases, the bond could be affected by the interaction between adhesive and surface (e.g. through migration of plasticizers or because of chemical incompatibility), thus it is always recommended to carry out a compatibility test.
